What a week..

Been so busy that I’ve not had the time to do an update each day. Friday was very undecided day, I was picking Nigel up but we couldn’t decide where to go.. we had the choice of the £25 + 1 rebuy and 1 add on in the gala leeds or DTD £75 freezeout. There is pennys between each one but the comp in leeds is softer but ( as I found out ) the play is much much worse.

The rebuy period is 1hour where you can have your 1 or 2 rebuys ( if you have the 2nd rebuy you cannot have an add on) the starting stack is 5k and I finish the hour without taking the rebuy and sitting on 21k. I generally take the addon cause it’s 5k and it’s always handy !

I got to this stack by some good solid play but the majority came from a semi bluff that never got called ( thank the poker gods !! ) anyhow I sit for a round or so and don’t play a hand, The table is so passive I make a button raise with K 10 suited. I get a call from a semi tight player who limped UTG+1

Board came 9 J 4 rainbow but with 1 diamond, Now I know I’ve missed but the check from the player give me to chance to take to pot down here cause I think he’s hit none of it anyhow.. I bet out 1500 ( about pot sized bet) and I get a call.. Now that worries me .. this guy has not called with a draw all night and since I’ve got the top draw for the straight I think the best he can have is trip jacks and slow playing them. The turn comes the miracle Queen of diamonds ! I’ve made my straight and I have to put him behind now and I don’t think he’s getting away from his hand because of the call on the flop. I bet out 3000… he insta calls again ! BINGO !! he must have trips now.. I know if the board doesn’t pair I’m taking all his chips… River comes rag diamond so the board is showing a flush but it’s runner runner and I cannot see this guy calling on the flop for a runner runner flush. I bet out 4k and he re raises all in for 6.5k 2.5k more for me to call and I think I get the 2.5 k and say call before he’s got his chips over the line..

I show the straight and the guy turns over AK Diamonds. I look in absolute disbelief.. he’s called a pot sized bet on the flop with ace high. The called another ¾ pot bet on the turn with just the flush draw in effect !!! Why can players not lay down AK.. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and I hope someone listens, AK is not the be all and end all of hands.. it’s a nice hand but if you miss it’s still only ace high


I end up tilting a bit and end up going out pushing with 2nd pair into a set of 3’s but I push and made the move… at least I didn’t call !!

Nigel ended up making the final and chopping the pot for £400 ( and my 50% is good ) so a profit on the night.

Saturday saw me being totall knackered and after agreeing to go to DTD for the £50 I fell asleep at about 2pm and didn’t wake up till 7pm.. I needed SSS and dinner so I just chilled in the end and played a bit online..

I awoke on Sunday really refreshed and had a few bits to do in the morning.. a trip to meadowhall and then some running about got me back in the house at about 12pm. Now since my move to betfair from Mansion I’ve been doing quite well in the super turbo tourneys and Saturday was no different.. 157 runners and I finished 3rd for $200.. not bad for a $10 investment..

Now Sunday for me has always been a Sheffield afternoon comp day.. it doesn’t make the best money in the world, it doesn’t have the best players in the world but it’s where I started with my game about 4 years ago and I do like playing there…. Not as much now but with a lot of the players there it’s always a good laugh and I get to catch up with people like Mick C, Ros, and a few others..

Now Sheffield has gone self deal over the last few months and since I’m not a bad dealer people enjoy getting on the table I’m dealing.. ( plus I get £20 and a free meal from the casino for dealing ) so the comp can be free… I end the rebuy period with 12k in chips after just 1 rebuy.. so I have the top up knowing I’ve got £20 coming so the comp will have cost me £10 cutting a long story short I end up chopping it 3 ways for £300.

Now I went to DTD last night and managed to run JJ into QQ on a 7 high board.. but got all my money back and a bit extra from cash !!

Well it’s Thursday morning and I’ve no idea what to do tonight……. Sooooo much happens on a Thursday it’s hard to decide

Been a few days !!

And i've had some ups and downs !! No not those sorts you mucky minded buggers !!

managed to get deep but off the money at DTD on saturday night.. but got down to 5 big blinds and shoved it in with 55.. only to find KK and 88 !! king on the flop and i'm drawing thin...

Sunday played the £10 bingo bango rebuy at sheffield.. did nothing but freerolled it with a £20 win on blackjack and then headed to DTD... missed the scalps comp because of something so an eventless night really ..

onlines been a bit hectic to say the least and when dave from badbeat gets my pokermon working again i'll post some hands up..

Short and sweet this one but tomorrow off work so to DTD tonight for the £50... Lets just ship it one time !!
